No plans for North Waziristan Operation : Pakistan Army


Islamabad : Pakistan's top military commanders had ruled out an imminent offensive in North Waziristan, contradicting a newspaper report that Pakistan had agreed to assault the militant-infested region following pressure from the United States.

Speaking at a news conference in Mohmand Agency, Lieutenant-General Asif Yasin Malik, commander of the 11th Corps based in Peshawar, said there was no change in his forces' posture in the last weeks.

Egypt Hosni Mubarak to be trialled on 3rd August


CAIRO : Egyptian ousted president Hosni Mubarak is scheduled to go on trial 3rd August 2011 on charges that he conspired in the fatal shooting of protesters and profited from corruption, state media reported.

Activists have taken to the streets in recent weeks to pressure the country’s interim rulers to prosecute Mubarak quickly and aggressively.

Karzai bans NATO strikes on Afghan homes


Kabul : The Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has warned that the NATO forces fighting in his country risk becoming an "occupying force" if they do not stop air strikes on Afghan civilian homes as they hunt armed fighters.

On Tuesday, Karzai told reporters in Kabul that "from this moment, air strikes on the houses of people are not allowed.

Obama has no place in his heart for Arab Children


What is it about Jewish and Arab children that privileges the first and spurns the second in the speeches of President Barack Obama, let alone in the Western media more generally? Are Jewish children smarter, prettier, whiter? Are they deserving of sympathy and solidarity, denied to Arab children, because they are innocent and unsullied by the guilt of their parents, themselves often referred to as "the children of Israel"? Or, is it that Arab children are dangerous, threatening, guilty, even dark and ugly, a situation that can only lead to Arabopaedophobia - the Western fear of Arab children?

'See They are Not Taliban', Nato Admits Killing of Children in Afghanistan


The international coalition forces in Afghanistan has admitted the deaths of Women and Children in air strike hours after Hamid Karzai had given America a “final warning” to change its tactics and avoid killing civilians.

A statement said aircraft, which locals said were helicopters, fired into a house where insurgents had fled after killing a United States Marine.
